October 30 marks the first day of National Francophone Immigration Week in Canada, a week-long event created by the Federation of Francophone and Acadian Communities of Canada (Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne, or FCFA) and the Francophone Immigration Networks (Réseaux en immigration francophone, or RIF) to highlight Francophone immigration and diversity in Canada.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) announced on the morning of October 30 that the International PhD Graduate stream has reached its limit for the most recent intake period after opening on October 12.

Latest British Columbia Draw Invites 345 More Workers And Graduates

In the latest British Columbia immigration draws, which took place on October 11 and 18, a total of 345 workers and international graduates received an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). Among the candidates who received an invitation to apply from the province were those invited under the BC PNP Tech Pilot.


October 18 Express Entry Draw Sees a Decrease in Minimum CRS Requirement

In the latest Express Entry draw, which took place on October 18, 2017, a total of 2,757 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 436 were issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA). Therefore, candidates in the Express Entry pool with a score of 436 or above at the time of the draw are now in a position to apply for Canadian permanent resident status.

Ontario Reopens Streams for International Masters and PhD Graduates

Two Canadian immigration streams through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), the International Masters Graduate Stream and International Students – PhD Graduate Stream, opened for eligible international graduates the morning of October 12. The International Masters Graduate Stream quickly reached its intake limit hours after opening. The PhD Graduate Stream remains open until further notice.


Express Entry Category in Nova Scotia Reaches Intake Limit

Category B of the Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry immigration stream — which reopened the morning of October 11 for up to 300 new applications — has reached its intake limit for this application intake period. This stream allows eligible Express Entry candidates with work experience in an eligible occupation to submit an application for a provincial nomination under the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP), one of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
