Saskatchewan will grant additional points to immigration candidates for being proficient in both English and French.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) uses a points system to evaluate immigration applicants.

Bilingual candidates can now receive an additional 10 points under the SINP’s International Skilled Worker - Express Entry immigration program. The number of additional points given will depend on the proficiency level of the applicant’s second language.

How to immigrate to Saskatchewan?

If you are interested in immigrating to Saskatchewan through the SINP, you are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile to showcase your skills and qualifications.

You must do this through the province’s online application system, OASIS. This process determines whether or not a candidate is eligible.

Once you submit your EOI profile, you will be assessed based on factors such as your age, work experience, education, language ability, and your connection to the province and adaptability.

You will then be given a point score based on these factors. To enter the EOI pool, you will need to score at least 60 out of 110 points.

For your education or training, you may receive a maximum of 23 points. If you have a Master's or Doctorate degree, for example, you will receive maximum points. If you have a trade certificate, you will receive 12 points.

Another 15 points are up for grabs for your work experience, 30 points are available for your language ability, 12 points for your age, and another 30 points are available depending on your connection to Saskatchewan.

Connection to the province includes if you have a job offer, or if you have a relative living in the province.
