Yesterday, Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Canada Minister Jason Kenney announced that he will be introducing a new guide to Canadian citizenship that will include information on Canada's military history and issues of historical significance.

Starting this month, a new pilot program funded by the government of New Brunswick will connect immigrant entrepreneurs with local business mentors, in order to help them integrate more successfully into the province’s business environment.

Greg Byrne, New Brunswick Minister responsible for the population growth secretariat,recently announced that $870,000 will be invested in newcomer integration and settlement in the province.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the provincial government of Prince Edward Island (PEI) recently announced a new agreement that will make it easier for PEI to attract skilled workers from abroad and to process their applications morequickly.

The Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) in Ottawa is spearheading a study to forecast changes in the IT labour market from now until2015. The results of the study will help the ICTC prepare for the predicted 89,000 IT workers that the sector will need between now and 2010.
