The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has introduced changes that may help international graduates of Memorial University and College of the North Atlantic gain smoother access to Canadian immigration.

International graduates from these institutions who are employed in an occupation unrelated to their field of study may apply under the International Graduate Category of the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) as long as they secure an indeterminate job offer for a full-time position in the province.

Other eligibility criteria remain in effect and international graduates from post-secondary institutions outside the province are still required to be employed in their field of study for a minimum of one year prior to the submission of an application.

It is important for eligible graduates with a job or job offer in the province to maintain legal status by having a Post-Graduation Work Permit that is valid for at least six months at the time of application. Read the full story on Canada Study News
