British Columbia has issued new invitations to candidates in its Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration streams.

A total of 65 Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration invitations were issued through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Tech Pilot which helps to fast-track immigration for eligible foreign workers in one of 29 in-demand technology occupations.

The minimum score in the September 24 draw was 90 for candidates in the Skilled Worker category and International Graduate categories in both the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams.

Among other eligibility criteria, the pilot requires a one-year, full-time job offer from a B.C. employer. The job offer must have at least 120 days remaining at the time of application to the BC PNP.

The BC PNP Tech pilot is not a separate BC PNP stream or category, applicants still need to apply to the BC PNP under one of the existing categories.

Individuals interested in immigrating to Canada through the BC PNP must begin the process by creating an online profile with the BC PNP and submitting a completed registration form.

In order to be eligible for any Express Entry BC categories, candidates must have an active profile in the federal Express Entry system, which manages the pool of candidates for Canada’s three Federal High Skilled immigration programs—the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.

Express Entry candidates who apply for and receive a provincial nomination for permanent residence through the Express Entry BC Stream receive an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

Applicants’ profiles are assessed and assigned a score based on factors that include education, work experience and proficiency in English or French.
