The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program issued 183 new invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to skilled workers and graduates looking to immigrate to the province on June 27.
Under the Express Entry BC: Skilled Worker and Express Entry BC: International Graduate, a successful nomination awards a candidate 600 additional points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and an Invitation to Apply (ITA) at an upcoming federal Express Entry draw.
Any candidate invited under the Skills Immigration categories will have their applications for permanent residence processed outside the Express Entry system after they receive a nomination from the Government of British Columbia.
Individuals interested in immigrating to British Columbia can begin the process by creating an online profile with the BC PNP and submitting a complete registration form. Applicants profiles are then assessed and are assigned a score based on education, work experience and other factors.
Most candidates applying to the categories managed under the BC PNP require an indeterminate, full-time job offer from an employer in the province.
The BC PNP, however, recently announced that an exception to this requirement applies to candidates who have a job offer in one of the 29 occupations in the BC PNP's Tech Pilot program. For candidates applying under the BC PNP Tech Pilot, the job offer must be at least one year in duration (365 days) and must have 120 calendar days remaining at the time of application.
The minimum scores for each category involved in this draw were as follows:
|Date||Category||Minimum Score Required||Number of ITAs Issued|
June 27, 2018
|EEBC – Skilled Worker||96||183|
|EEBC – International Graduate||96|
|SI - Skilled Worker||87|
|SI – International Graduate||96|
|SI - Entry Level and Semi-Skilled||70|
