British Columbia invites 95 in Tech Pilot draw

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has issued new invitations under the Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration on March 23, 2021.

A total of 95 invitations were issued to candidates in the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories through a Tech Pilot draw.

In order to be considered under the BC PNP’s Tech Pilot, applicants must have a valid job offer in one of the 29 eligible tech-related occupations identified by the B.C. government.

Candidates needed to have a minimum provincial score of 80 to receive an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination through the BC PNP Tech Pilot in this draw.

To be considered for immigration to British Columbia through the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories, individuals are first required to create a profile through the BC PNP online portal and register under the program’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

Candidates are evaluated based on factors such as education, work experience, proficiency in English and location of employment.

Express Entry candidates who receive a nomination from British Columbia will be awarded an additional 600 points toward their Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. This effectively guarantees an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a future federal draw.

What is the B.C. Tech Pilot?

The BC PNP Tech Pilot is a fast-track immigration pathway for in demand tech workers as well as international students.

Those who have tech skills and are looking to become permanent residents in Canada are a good fit for the tech pilot. Candidates are required to be registered in one of the province's provincial immigration streams. They must also have a valid full-time job offer of at least 12 months in duration. The job offer does not need to be permanent. The occupation must be in one of the Tech Pilot's 29 eligible occupations.

Candidates who receive an invitation to apply for provincial nomination will have 30 days to submit a complete application.
