New Biometric Requirements Take Force

the CanadaVisa Team - 06 September, 2013

As of Wednesday, September 5, some temporary residents in Canada will have to provide biometric data in order to enter the country.

Citizens of Jamaica, Haiti and Colombia are for now the first to be affected by this new policy, which was announced last December. Visitors, students or temporary workers from those countries must now provide fingerprints and pictures and pay an $85 processing fee before they will be allowed to enter Canada.

The list of countries that will require biometric data is expected to grow to 30 by the end of 2013. Other countries on the list will include Somalia, Pakistan, Albania and Afghanistan.
