Canadian Immigration Measures To Support Those Affected By Nepal Earthquake

Canada will be prioritizing the processing of immigration applications already in progress on request from those who are significantly and personally affected by the earthquake in Nepal, which occurred on April 25, 2015.

Requests from Nepalese citizens temporarily in Canada who need to extend their stay will also be assessed in a compassionate and flexible manner.

In support of these measures, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has set up a special email address and a dedicated phone line to respond to requests from applicants and their families.

Individuals with an existing immigration application and currently residing outside Canada may contact Delhi-immigration@international.gc.ca with the following information:

For new immigration applications, Nepalese citizens outside Canada may send an email to Delhi-immigration@international.gc.ca after having submitted an application or made an Expression of Interest in immigrating to Canada. Nepalese citizens in Canada who have submitted an application of made an Expression of Interest in immigration to Canada may send an email to Situation-Nepal@cic.gc.ca outlining their situation.
