According to a survey of international schools conducted by the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, Canada was found to have some of the highest performing students in the world. Students from countries such as China, Australia, Finland, Japan, Canada and more were tested on mathematical and reading skills and their knowledge of the sciences.

Out of more than 70 countries tested, Canadian students ranked sixth in their performance. In particular, students from the province of Alberta showed the highest levels of reading literacy, ranking second in the world only to Shanghai, China.

The survey also found that Canadian students are able to excel in their studies, regardless of their economic situation. What all the high performing schools have in common is the ambitious standards set for the students, which can be more important than the monetary resources available to the schools.

As Canada continues to rank amongst the best education in the world, more students are choosing Canada as their preferred destination.
