Prince Edward Island released the details of its February 18 draw.
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) issued 121 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination of permanent residence.
A total of 102 invitations went to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates. The remaining 19 invitations went to Business Impact candidates.
Candidates in the Express Entry system are ranked according to their CRS score. This score takes into consideration the candidates' education, work experience, age and language proficiency in English or French.

These Business Impact candidates needed a minimum point threshold of at least 184.
PEI's Express Entry category is an "enhanced" Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This means that it is aligned with Canada's federal Express Entry system.
Express Entry is the management system used by the Canadian federal government to manage applications for the three main economic class immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Candidates who are in the Express Entry pool are given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on their age, education, work experience, language ability and adaptability.
Those who receive a provincial nomination from any province, are awarded an additional 600 CRS points. This practically guarantees an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
PEI's Labour Impact category is for foreign candidates who have a valid job offer in the province with support from their employer. This category is further divided into three streams:
Candidates who are interested in this category are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the PEI PNP.
The province's Business Impact category includes the Work Permit Stream. This allows entrepreneurs to come to the province on a work permit before receiving a provincial nomination for permanent residence.
