Immigrants to the Kitchener-Waterloo region of Ontario now have more support available to them. The Immigration Partnership Council was recently announced, which according to the Kitchener-Waterloo Record, will “better assist new immigrants become part of the community.”

The Council will help immigrants settle and find work, with an emphasis on employment through its integration with the Waterloo Region Immigrant Employment Network.

The Immigration Partnership Council becomes one of forty-five similar immigration councils in Ontario and by serving Kitchener-Waterloo it is serving the seventh most popular destination in the country for new Canadians. Currently, twenty-two percent of the region’s population is composed of immigrants.

Waterloo is the well-known home of Research in Motion (RIM), the makers of Blackberry, and the world class Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, started with the help of the founder of RIM. These, and other draws, make the region attractive for new immigrants.

You can immigrate to Ontario through such programs as its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), or a federal program like the Federal Skilled Worker program. To find out your eligibility, fill out our free online assessment form.
