Canada's Express Entry draw results from May 24, 2023

Vimal Sivakumar - 24 May, 2023

Thankyou
Thankyou

This article will present the results of Canada's latest Express Entry draw on May 24, 2023.

In its latest Express Entry draw, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 4,800 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence (PR) to Canada. This draw marks IRCC's eighth all-program draw of 2023.

As a reminder, all-program draws consider issuing ITAs to applicants of all three programs contained under Express Entry - the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

ITA recipients in today's draw all had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 488. This CRS cut-off score is up five points from the last all-program draw conducted by IRCC on April 26, 2023 (minimum CRS score of 483).

Immigration candidates who remain in the Express Entry pool following today's round of invitations can likely expect another draw in two weeks.

About Express Entry

Express Entry cumulatively manages immigration applications from three programs - the CEC, the FSWP, and the FSTP - via one application management system.

This system is a key component of the Canadian immigration landscape, helping the federal government attract foreign skilled workers to Canada by offering them PR. Express Entry provides international skilled workers who are interested in immigrating to Canada with a chance to fulfill their dreams while reciprocally contributing to the economic and social growth of this country.

To become a Canadian permanent resident through one of the three programs under Express Entry, foreign skilled workers must begin the process by self-verifying their eligibility for the CEC, FSWP and/or the FSTP. Once this step is complete, all eligible candidates are welcome to make an online Express Entry profile on IRCC's website. At this time, candidates will have formally entered the Express Entry pool and made it so that they may receive an ITA in a forthcoming Express Entry draw.

Once in the pool, candidates must wait until IRCC issues their next "round of invitations" in an Express Entry draw. Candidates with a CRS score above the cut-off score (for that particular draw) will be issued an ITA for Canadian PR. Now, a candidate becomes an applicant and they will be given 60 days (starting from the day they receive the ITA) to submit an electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) for PR in Canada.
