British Columbia held its 36th draw of 2019, bringing the total number of ITAs issued up to 5,499 this year.

On September 17, The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued 481 invitations to apply to qualified candidates in the Express Entry and Skills Immigration streams as well as 30 invitations to Entrepreneur Immigration — Base Category and eight invitations to Entrepreneur Immigration — Regional Pilot.

The new invitations went to candidates from the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams, specifically the Skilled Worker, International Graduate as well as the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled categories.

The Skills Immigration category is a stream for skilled and semi-skilled individuals whose occupations are in high demand in the province of British Columbia.

The Express Entry BC category is for candidates with a valid Express Entry profile in the federal pool of candidates. It is meant to streamline the process for skilled workers that meet BC PNP criteria and who intend to reside in B.C.

The latest draw saw minimum scores between 92 and 101 points in these two streams.

The Entrepreneur Categories are for experienced entrepreneurs from around the world who would like to establish businesses in regional communities and those who can actively manage and invest in a B.C. business.

The latest draw saw minimum scores between 108 and 115 points in this stream.

To qualify under Entrepreneur Immigration categories candidates must demonstrate business and management experience, have a net worth of at least $300,000 in the EI — Regional Pilot category and $600,000 in the EI — Base Category.

BC PNP categories are managed under B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

In order to apply through the SIRS, eligible candidates are first required to register an account, then they are assigned a score based on factors like education, work experience and language proficiency.
