The Government of British Columbia issued 191 new invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) candidates in a new draw held July 23.

The latest invitations issued through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program went to Skills Immigration candidates in three categories: Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry-Level or Semi-Skilled Worker.

Candidates in the EEBC Skilled Workers and International Graduate categories also received invitations.

The precise breakdown of invitations within these five categories was not provided.

EEBC categories are open to immigration candidates with a profile in the federal Express Entry system, which manages the pool of candidates for Canada's Federal Skilled Worker ClassFederal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class economic immigration categories.

An additional 600 points is added to Express Entry candidates’ Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score after they are approved for a nomination.

Skills Immigration candidates who receive a nomination will have their Canadian permanent residence applications processed outside the federal Express Entry system.

Foreign nationals who would like to be considered through either the Skills Immigration or EEBC streams have to first register an online profile with the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) through the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

SIRS is a points-based system used by the BC PNP to evaluate candidates based on factors like education, work experience and proficiency in English or French.

The July 23 draw had a minimum score range between 80 and 110 points.
