84 immigrants became Canadian citizens at the Heritage Days festival in Edmonton, Alberta.
The immigrants, hailing from over 30 countries, were sworn in at Canada’s largest multicultural festival. Over 200 people turned out to witness the event.

“Every culture being celebrated here, during Heritage Days, has brought something unique and important to the fabric of our Canadian communities,” said Alberta Lieutenant Governor Donal Ethell. “This is your time to bring your unique voice and skills to the ongoing work of building a nation that we can all be proud of and call home.”

Edmonton is host to the annual Heritage Festival. The festival celebrates various cultures represented in the city. This year, pavilions were erected to represent over 85 countries. An estimated 352,000 visitors attended the festival.
