the CanadaVisa Team - 26 July, 2011

As of July 18, 2011, applicants who are applying for Canadian permanent residence are encouraged to use the new set of immigration forms: Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) and Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669).

The new immigration forms allow applicants to save a partially completed form electronically and complete it at a later date. Once the application form is complete, applicants will be able to print the completed forms along with a bar code printed on their forms.

Applicants will notice that the new forms include drop down menus for many questions in addition to new questions being added. Older versions of the forms will be accepted until March 31, 2012, however applicants are encouraged to use the new forms as soon as possible.

For a list of the new available forms, please visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2011/ob326.asp
