Citizenship and Immigration Canada Spruces Up Website for Improved User Experience

the CanadaVisa Team - 18 July, 2015

In order to better serve its visitors, the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website (www.cic.gc.ca) has been reorganized to facilitate navigation and to improve user experience.

Among the most significant benefits of the website’s new look are a more efficient reorganization of information and a more practical structure to ensure that government programs, services, and tools are easily reached.

All programs and services are now accessible from the left-hand menu bar, where information is organized by topic, such as Visas and Immigration, Information for Newcomers, Citizenship, and Resources. Now site-wide are the Online Services menu and the Quick Find menu. Online services include tools to check an application status and to calculate time requirements for Canadian citizenship. The new Quick Menu provides easy access to commonly needed information, including Frequently Asked Questions, visa office locations, and application forms. Many pages also supply a list of related links at the bottom of the page, to facilitate navigation throughout the site.

Featured prominently on the home page is the recently-created Foreign Credentials Referral Office (FCRO), which aims to facilitate the integration of foreign-trained workers into the Canadian workforce.
