The Government of Manitoba has issued a total of 469 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence to candidates in its Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas immigration streams on November 8.

A total of 300 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for a provincial nomination were issued to Expression of Interest (EOI) candidates in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream.

These candidates scored at least 679 on the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)'s unique points-based system, which assigns candidates a score out of 1,000 based on factors like completed education, previous work experience, and ties to the province.

The remaining 169 candidates were invited under the MPNP's Skilled Worker Overseas Stream at minimum scores of 705 for the Strategic Recruitment Initiative and 610 for candidates with connections to the province.

Connections to the province can be demonstrated by having a close relative residing in Manitoba, past education or work experience in Manitoba, recent experience in a Manitoba In-Demand occupation, or meeting the minimum language requirement of CLB 5 or 6 depending on the type of occupation.

The 69 candidates invited under the Skilled Worker Oversea's Strategic Recruitment Initiative were interviewed by MPNP representatives during an overseas recruitment mission.

Completing an Expression of Interest profile is the required first step for anyone who wants to be considered for immigration through the MPNP's Skilled Worker streams. Eligible candidates are then entered into the EOI pool, where they are ranked against other candidates.

All MPNP candidates with an LAA have 60 days to submit a complete application for a provincial nomination through their online MPNP account

Candidates who successfully obtain a provincial nomination from Manitoba will be able to submit an application for Canadian permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
