Family sponsorship application processing times for Adopted children and other relative are based on the latest information available from Canadian immigration authorities.

The Government of Canada allows citizens and permanent residents to sponsor certain members of the family class, but it requires that sponsored family member receive care and often financial support from their sponsors.

In order to be eligible for Family sponsorship immigration program, both the Canadian citizen or permanent resident (also called the 'sponsor') and their adopted child or relative (the 'sponsored person') must be approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The Government of Canada recently changed how immigration processing times are published. Use our Canada Immigration Processing Times Tool to get the latest information.
