"Parliament is set to reconvene on November 22.

The cabinet is the body of ministerial advisors that sets the federal government’s policies and priorities. Each minister is given a mandate letter by the Prime Minister. The mandate letter outlines the policies and priorities that the Prime Minister would like each minister to pursue during the government’s time in power."

That's tomorrow. I am curious to know if FSW is going to be discussed and tended to on the mandate. There are multiple requests on Twitter to MP Sean Fraser to address the backlogs. I hope we can be notified of substantive steps that will be taken to improve the FSW backlogs.

I hope we don't see a mention of "temporary foreign workers" in the mandate letter. Or we're screwed bois

The entire year of 2021 has already been dedicated to low skill people, no need to give out any more easy PRs. Or at least give FSW/PNP's resources back and let low skill fellas wait; they're on a visa anyway. We'll see.

Not sure if the draws would be mentioned but I’m slightly positive that backlogs might be addressed. So far we have seen three or four articles where Sean Fraser mentioned about backlogs and how they are one of his major challenges.

...and since this is an FSW thread, I have to raise this question. What are the probabilities that FSW is going to continue? Asking sincerely since I submitted my FSW last month in October 2021. I wonder how the backlogs affect my submission since I have yet to receive any word of AOR.

PEI invites 188 immigration candidates in new PNP draw
The new draw brings the number of PEI PNP invitations issued this year to 1,729

Prince Edward Island held its scheduled immigration draw on November 18.

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) invited 188 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.

Most of the invitations, 172, went to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates. The remaining 16 invitations went to Business Impact candidates who had at least 67 points in the province’s immigration system.

PEI holds one Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) invitation round per month. The total number of invitations issued so far this year is now 1,729.

PNPs allow Canada’s provinces and territories to select immigration candidates who meet their labour market needs. This is true of Prince Edward Island, which administers the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) within federally-approved guidelines.

The next PEI PNP draw is expected for December 16, 2021.

About the PEI PNP Express Entry Category
The PEI PNP’s Express Entry Category is an enhanced PNP, which means it is linked with the federal government’s Express Entry system. In order to be considered for this stream, candidates need to have a profile in the system.

Express Entry is an immigration application manager. It handles the applications for three economic-class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.

Eligible candidates get a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for their age, work experience, education, and language proficiency in English or French.

Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination are given an additional 600 points toward their CRS score and are effectively guaranteed an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

In order to be considered for a provincial nomination from PEI, Express Entry candidates need to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the PEI PNP.

EOI profiles are given points based on the province’s unique points grid. The highest-scoring candidates are then invited to apply through monthly draws.

Labour Impact Category
The Labour Impact Category is for foreign nationals who have a valid job offer in PEI, and have support from their employer. It is divided into three streams: Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate.

Candidates in this category must also submit an Expression of Interest in order to be considered for a provincial nomination through the Labour Impact Category.

Business Impact Category
Business Impact Category candidates need to meet the minimum provincial score requirement in order to proceed with their applications. The score is different in every draw. The invitations that PEI sent in today’s draw were issued under the Work Permit Stream, which is for foreign entrepreneurs who want to own and operate a business on the island.

Newfoundland and Labrador releases first PNP draw results
Nurses, software developers, and data analysts were among the 663 immigration candidates invited by the Atlantic province.

Newfoundland and Labrador has released the results of its first three draws under the Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador stream.

So far this year, the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) invited a grand total of 663 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The following table shows the month of the draws, and the number of invitations sent to each occupation.

The Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador is a new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) for highly educated, highly skilled newcomers with specialized experience in areas where demand has outpaced local training and recruitment, such as technology and ocean sciences occupations.

The program was created to help address local labour shortages. To be eligible, newcomers need at least one year of work experience in one of Newfoundland’s in-demand occupations. It is also open to post-graduates who completed a Masters or Doctorate degree at Memorial University within the past three years.

How the Priority Skills program works
The Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador operates as an Expression of Interest (EOI) system. Interested candidates complete an EOI, and receive an invitation to apply through the province’s online portal.

Invited individuals receive a provincial nomination if they meet all the criteria for either the Skilled worker, or Express Entry Skilled Worker categories. This nomination will support a subsequent application for Canadian permanent residence to the federal government.

Applicants fill out a questionnaire to get their EOI score. Those who get above 60 points will be visible to local employers who have accounts with the province’s Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism.

It is not necessary to have a job offer to apply to the province’s new Provincial Nominee Program. Applicants need to score highly in the EOI system and have received interest from local employers.

Candidates need a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of at least five in order to be eligible. The results of the language test must be less than 12 months old. They also must be at least 21 years old and intend to live permanently in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Things have picked up pace for sure. Really hope to see some progress when i order GCMS notes again at the start of the new year. I'll be beyond ecstatic if I get good news in H1 2022. We're seeing Q1 2020 apps being approved now, so they should get to Q3 * Q4 apps after that since I dont think there were any draws in Q2. CPC-O has finally woken up & that's encouraging.

Guys I recently received a schedule A request. I recently moved to a new house this month but the house is in the same society where I was previously living, just the house number has changes. Do I need to include this address in Schedule A now? I am just worried this would delay the application more.

Wow Newfoundland and Labrador seems to have a strong demand for IT and Medical staff.
