Thank you @maverick1982 . I dont see bls upfated it yet but my status granted changed on May 15. So should i call bls or wait for them to update it on the site?
You are welcome. Yea you can call and inquire. My status showed Processed on may 19 for old format website. Then the new website format said granted on May 16. So it was actually granted 3 days earlier. Bls just received today. So hopefully yours will reach bls in next two days. No harm calling.

Hi do we have to upload copr also???

Unfortunately yes.
In the checklist BLS specifically mentioned that all documents needed to be uploaded on the oci portal.
However there is no option to upload copr.
I made one document for all Canadian documents like passport copr citizenship certificate and uploaded together.
Similary I made a single document for indian documents like passport, surrender certificate etc and uploaded together

I applied for OCI for family of 3 last week.
Make one pdf for Canadian documents, similarly make one document for Indian documents.
Upload these documents in relevant sections.
Do upload all other documents mentioned in the drop down options as well.
look at this hci Toronto website:

https://www.cgitoronto.gov.in/page/how-to-apply-for-adults-oci-previous-indian-citizen/

it clearly says all documents needs to be uploaded.
Read the step 2, NOTE section, point ii.
It says how we can upload the docs

Thank you!

They also said my signature doesn’t match my Indian passport. It’s a 15 year old signature on the passport and over the years my ‘A’ style has changed a little. How do I correct this?

Submit a self declaration to accept my new signature?
signature in oci application must match Canadian passport not Indian Passport

In my case it took a week to cancel the voter ID.
Form 7 acknowledgement will be available immediately once you submit form 7 in the voter self service portal.

I've been waiting over a month and status is stuck at "FVR submitted". I've reached out to my BLO, but she doesn't have a clue about anything and then I tried reaching out to ERO, but calls were never answered. Do you have any other option to escalate this?

I am currently completing an OCI application for a minor and have encountered an issue in the document upload section. The drop-down menu includes options that appear irrelevant to a minor’s application, and it lacks specific options for the required documents. Could you kindly advise on the appropriate drop-down option for uploading a Canadian passport? I have already uploaded the canceled Indian passport. Would it be advisable to combine both passports into a single file for upload? For your reference, I have attached a screenshot of the issue.

Thank you for your assistance, and I greatly appreciate your guidance

Can we apply for an entry visa or e-visa while an OCI application is in process? Once the OCI is approved, can it be mailed to our address in India? Under these circumstances, do we need to apply for a change of immigration status from an entry visa or e-visa to OCI if we plan to stay longer in India? I found a thread where someone mentioned that if we travel on an e-visa and then receive OCI approval, we must exit and re-enter India to change our status from e-visa to OCI. However, if we are on an entry visa, exiting and re-entering may not be required. How accurate is this information? The BLS agent couldn’t provide clear guidance on this. Please advise

I am filling out my minor son's OCI application who was born in Canada. The checklist asks for these documents. Where do I upload them? I don't see any options in the document dropdown.

  • Parents current passport
  • Parents Indian passport
  • Parents surrender certificate
  • Parents COPR
  • Declaration + NOC

Also, can I add parents driver's license as minor's address proof?

You can. Mailing to India, looks tough. E-visa you do need to go out of India and re-enter with OCI. Not sure about entry visa. You can confirm the same with FRRO once in India.
