How long did you guys wait for re-evaluation.
Got my scores today L-11, R-12, S-8, W-8.
Applied for re-evaluation of last two sections. I still need S,W-9 to pass the PR barrier.
Hi, Did you get your re-evaluation detail? Could you please let me know how many days it took for you?

Folks, I got R-10, L-11, S-8 and W-8. Would you suggest i apply for re-evaluation for S and W? How much time do we have to apply for re-evaluation from the day the results are announced? Any tips would be appreciated....Thanks.

So my wife and I both took the exam about 3.5 weeks ago. We are both native speakers and good writers. Maybe we didn't take the writing practice test seriously enough, but we both bombed the writing section. My original scores were 12-12-9-12 with the 9 in W. My wife's were 12-12-8-11 (8 in W, 11 in S). We did the re-evaluation immediately. Both of our writing scores went up to a 10. We got the results exactly two weeks from when we requested them. Best of luck.

I did mine for writing from 6 to 8. I paid $62.15 but realized the refunded it. Took 2 weeks exactly for the result of reeval.

I'm in the exact same boat-- native speaker, great writer, got stuck with R12 L11 W8 S12. I requested the writing to be re-evaluated the day I got the scores. Thank you for sharing your experiences, and here's hoping they feel the same about my writing score.

I received my CELPIP score as well:

L: 11
R: 12
S: 9
W: 8

Indeed, that stupid 8 is costing me 45 CRS points on my PR application! How ridiculous is that! If my W was a 9 I would've had 45 points extra.
I purchased re-evaluation for Writing only. What are the chances of my writing getting raised from 8 to 9? That is literally all I need... one single point increment. Right now I am below the PR threshold. When I get a 9 in writing, I am OVER the PR threshold.
What exactly is the PR threshold that you mentioned? I noticed a few other people also saying X score to pass the PR barrier. I got 10,11, 8, 8 as my scores so is this above or below threshold? I am an NOC A category.

Hi All,

I've applied for Celpip re-evaluation for my speaking and it's increased by two points.

Before
L - 10
R-12
W-8
S-6

After
L-10
R-12
W-8
S-8

Revaluation applied on Feb-20 and completed by Mar-06; took exactly two weeks. I would say it's really worth a try even if you are 50% confident that you deserve much better score than what you got. It's like $55 gamble.

All the best!
Ram.

I suspect they're referring to the minimum thresholds to be eligible for certain Express Entry programs, which you appear to exceed. There is also a "barrier" of sorts when it comes to scoring-- a CLB below some thresholds puts the applicant at a points disadvantage that can sometimes mean the difference between receiving an ITA or not. For example, with 12/11/8/12, I would score 420 points, but with 12/11/9/12, I would score 478 points. That's such a tiny score improvement, but it equates to a 58 point difference due to the bonus having 9+ in each category gives. Huge! You can plug in your scores to the CRS tool online to see how improving your scores would affect your points.

I received my CELPIP scores on Feb 20 and requested a re-evaluation of the writing section that day. I just received my re-evaluated score online today (March 6), exactly 2 weeks after requesting it. My writing score went up 2 points!

Original: R:12 L:11 W:8 S:12
Re-evaluated: R:12 L:11 W:10 S:12

That's a huge relief to me. It means I'll be able to get max points in the CRS. It also means I get my $55 back (although the weaker exchange rate means I'll get less USD back than I paid...)

What blows my mind the most is that the scoring is so off that you could go up a whole two points in writing. My wife did too. Good luck with getting PR.
