And what will the MP do? Are there really any cases of MPs helping move things along? As far as I can tell, the MPs just get a brief summary of what is in the GCMS notes for anyone who cares to get those.

well it is just one of the few options available to applicants plus maybe if more and more applicants go their MPs ,this could put pressure on them and they could raise the issue of delay in the parliament.

I have applied notes from IRCC 3 weeks ago and now I am thinking if I made a mistake after reading this comments. If they redacted everything I should have applied through CBSA.

I understand his impatience though. The OP is a 2016 applicant!! Justifiable, don't you think?
I get it and that's why I said they should write to the Director General office directly but I didn't knew at that point that the test was just written.

Even if the OP has to do FP again, they are definitely in the homestretch and are gonna loose sleep for no obvious reasons going down the rabbit hole. Lol

But, each to their own.

Why is it a mistake? You can request from CBSA and CIC both. CIC will send it to you just around the 30 day mark while CBSA will around 60 day mark.

It takes 60 days to receive notes from CBSA? Oh boy, so the trade-off here is content vs time LOL. The irony is that IRCC takes a shorter time to redact so much information (which would involve more efforts from the staff) but CBSA provides notes will less redactions (relatively less effort) but takes longer. The timeframes would only make sense if they are switched (IRCC 60 days and CBSA 30 days).

I called the call centre agent and my experience was so bad. Like I was asking him questions about BG in progress and without even listening to me he said we don’t give any info on BG check. Total waste of time to call them and it ruined my day. Its better to wait for notes and check yourself. I understand they are busy but my problem is the attitude and no accountability. We are paying you like more than 500 dollars at least talk to your client properly. I wanted to know when my BG was started and what is pending. Same generic replies. Never calling again.

Yep. Lol. But they will be in touch to inform of the extension needed to process. They are really professional compared to CIC because they prepare a cover letter and what not for all communications unlike CIC which just processes and dumps GCMS notes to emails. Haha.
I think the reason CBSA releases a lot of information which CIC chooses to withheld is probably because of a lack in communication between both. What one agency sees as protected and classified doesn't seem the same to other. Classic federal move. Lol. But I think sooner or later, they will get in sync and CBSA notes will eventually become useless too.

This is going to be my PhD research thesis ;)

Perhaps the reason why my eligibility check is taking longer .

Your mistaken man. The 500 dollars you are paying is not really to receive a service. Lol. Next time you call them ask "leading questions" like I see from my notes that my criminality has passed and security is pending? They will correct you. For some weird reasons they can't say these terms or bring it up by themselves(I am still probing on why) but they have the ability to confirm when the applicant asks. Also, being nice and polite always helps. Keep your frustration away and think of it as they were doing you a favor because your end goal is to get information out of them.

You have written your test a couple weeks ago, I am not sure why you are getting impatient now. Hang in there and your interview/oath will come soon.
My application date is December 2016. How many times I need to do fingerprints? The situation needs IRCC have mercy on this immigrant father and his three children.

Question - Have you applied for GCMS notes ? If you haven't, you should really consider ordering them.

To answer your question, your criminality clearance will expire sometime after August 18th, 2021. If this happens, you might be asked for fingerprints again, unfortunately.
There is no problem in asking for fingerprints again. But IRCC needs five months to declare is "Completed"

I did the fingerprint in August 2020. Results received 15 Augusts 2020. And still the background verification shows "In Progress" I do not know why it is not "Completed"

If I was asked to do fingerprints again, how many days it takes for IRCC to change the status of Background verification to "completed"?

Anywhere between a week to a few months.
