I called IRCC to ask about the background check which is stuck at - in progress and rest everything else is completed on tracker (Biometrics, Medical and Eligibility)
They told me my PVO is Sydney and SVO is Ottawa.
Security check : not started
Criminality check : Passed
Info sharing - In progress

How long will it take for background checks to complete at this point?

There isn’t a set timeline since it depends heavily on your specific application, how your visa office is handling it, and whether there are any pauses before work resumes.

How long will it take for background checks to complete at this point?

There isn’t a fixed timeline for background checks. If criminality has passed but info sharing is still in progress and security has not started, the application can still remain in background processing for some time.

IRCC says these checks can vary depending on the complexity of the case, information verification, and whether other agencies such as CBSA or CSIS need to be involved.

Unfortunately, IRCC call centre agents also can’t usually tell you exactly how much longer it will take. If your application is still within normal processing times, the main option is to wait and monitor the tracker.

My Secuirty check got cleared on 22nd July and nothing after that. In my case they did security check first before background clearance. It’s weird
