For the last couple of days, I have been dinging through open sources for and aggregating information on how long applicants waited from a completed LPP to their Oath Ceremony
After cleaning the data to remove duplicates and extreme outliers, I ended up with a dataset of 225 entries. I set 100 days as the maximum cutoff, as waiting longer than 100 days after LPP usually signals non-routine processing (such as cases where an application undergoes additional security screening despite LPP and Background Verification showing as completed on the tracker). All the collected data represents applicants with LPP completed between January and the first week of August 2026.
How to read the Diagram:
Min and Max values represent minimum and maximum was time between LPP and the Oath Ceremony per province.
The median value (dark blue line) in the chart represents the exact middle wait time: 50% of applicants take the Oath faster than that day after LPP, and 50% waited longer. Unlike the average, the median isn't distorted by extreme delays. So, it is a realistic EXPECTED number of days between completed LPP and the Oath ceremony in Jan - Aug 2026. It could be shorter, it could be longer, but a regular Joe took the Oath on that day after the LPP in Jan - Aug 2026).
Out of the 225 entries, only four provinces had enough data points to be included in the analysis:
- Ontario: 135
- British Columbia: 44
- Alberta: 26
- Quebec: 21
Note: In Ontario, the discrepancy is extremely high. Applicants from the GTA are usually processed very quickly, with the majority taking their Oath within 14 days of a completed LPP.
