Winter 2020 Intake: (SDS/Non SDS) Pakistani Students Only

Hello everyone!

I need your valuable input here.

My wife is going to apply for M.Ed (Master degree) and we will be going through SDS.

I and my 3 years old son will be accompanying her.

My questions are here

Is it possible to get GIC for family? If only for student then do we have to show funds in account for myself and my son?

What would be chances of visa when we can show solid ties with home country?

Thank you in advance!
AOA, Dear i have same case,
kindly give update have you got visa?

Hello everyone.

I am not sure if this is the right forum to ask for the assessment of my chances, still posting my profile:

Age: 33 Years
Education: MBA (Finance), 2012. Total 16 years of education.
Experience: 8 years now
CGPA: 2.3 or 63%
Ielts: 7 overall

Target course: 1 year PG or 2 years PG

Based on my huge study gap and low cgpa, is it possible to have a student visa? if all of my other documents are complete, can or will visa officer reject my visa by looking at my CGPA and study gap?

Also, I have an active express entry profile which I will remove if I am attending to apply for a student visa. Can visa officer get to know that I was trying for immigration?

Apply for a masters degree rather than diploma as you already have a bachelors degree, recommended progression to bachelor's degree is master's
How about the postgraduate certificate? I have done BSc (Hons) in Business, and applying for postgraduate certificate in digital and content marketing (8 months) from York University. Also have IELTs with overall band 7.5, with no skill less than 6.5. Have almost 3 years of working experience in the same advertising agency and a renowned Pakistani retail brand. What's your take on the profile?

Age and gap dont matter. They dont care about your gpa. The only issue i see is doing pg diploma after masters. But i could be wrong. I Would suggest you to go for higher education to increase your chances.
You must demonstrate strong home ties and finances. Also your future education must be related to either your current job or previous education.
You need strong SOP to convince the visa officer that your real intentions are to receive the education.
Give it a shot and see what happens. Please remove your express entry profile before you submit an application for study permit.
APPLY VIA SDS CATEGORY TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Consultants in Pakistan are telling me that you can't go for masters due to your low cgpa?

I want to give it a try. Can you recommend some economical universities?

Hello Everyone,

I want your suggestion on my profile, as I am looking to further my education in Canada. My profile is as below:
Education: BSc (Hons) in Business - CGPA: 3.23 - graduated in 2016
IELTs: Overall 7.5 - Writing: 6.5; Speaking: 7.5; Listening: 7.5; Reading: 8
Experience: 4 years in advertising agency and brand side in a renowned Pakistani shoe retail brand
Applying through: SDS for Winter 2021 intake
Program Applied: Post-Graduate Certificate in Digital and Content Marketing from York University (8 Months Program)

Would appreciate if you have any recommendations for me and your take on my profile. Also would like to know how much funds should be in my bank to prove that I have sufficient funds. Fees will directly go from Canada, however the GIC will be taken from my own account.

Thanks in advance!

Your profile is pretty solid. If you pay 1 year tuition in advance along with 10k CAD GIC via SDS program than additional bank statement would be a plus point. You can show as much money you like. You should apply ASAP considering the fact that IRCC has delayed application processing time.

Consultants will tell you many things. But just keep in mind that already having a masters degree and going for diploma will decrease your visa approval chances. Try to find a master program in any university in newfounded land or monitoba. Sometimes program that doesn't require thesis are easy to get into even gpa as low as 2.5/4.
Do some reaserch of your own and even reach out to the University to get more details regarding admission.

Thank you for your reply. What do think about the program I am applying for, is it worth the while?

Also I am looking to deposit 3.5m in my bank account, out of which 1.35m will be withdrawn for GIC. The remaining will be approx. 2m in my account at the time of applying for visa, other than GIC and tuition fees - these two will be done obviously for SDS. Is that enough?

I am looking to apply in Oct mid, since I need that time to maintain my bank statement. Would that be okay?

Thats a decent amount for financial requirement. But make sure to distribute small deposits over couple weeks period. Dont make a mistake of depositing the whole amount at once. Visa officer may get suspicious to the source of funds. Other than that you should be good to go.
I can't give you any feed back regards to you field of interest. Maybe someone else can guide you better on that matter.

First of all you need to pay for a whole year tuition plus GIc 10k CAD to qualify for SDS program.
Once you make the full payment you will be able to print a tuition payment recipient from college student account.
Secondary, its too late to apply for visa for October intake even for SDS program. IRCC will start processing study permit application on July 1st. And there are many applicant that are still waiting since January/February.
Therefore, its better if you apply for January intake, that way you will have enough time to prepare the documents and get your visa approved.
