So just to understand, the status changed to Background check since 1.5 month? And before that was it checking eligibility?

Yes i am waiting. I applied for work permit on 26 Dec online from India. On 3rd jan biometric uploaded, 10 jan medical exam passed. since then complete silence.

I applied fpr work permit LMIA exempt on 26 jan, i gave biometric amd medical after getting update on 26, and final uploading of results on 10jan. Since then there is complete silence

They don’t run background check for everyone. That is why it is taking longer for you.

You said that they are already checking your BG and eligibility.

They don’t check BG for everyone for temporary residence application. If they do it can be delay.
