good news from my end..just CIC, the second time I called today( always try different agents), She told me that my card was mailed out on the june 20th Monday. So prob receive it soon. I landed in edmonton Canada Place on the 20th of April.
I also called them twice today but they were not willing to look up my file, they just kept telling me they had no access to my file and I should wait for another two weeks or till July 8.

I hope it will arrive by end of June.

i called CIC again and they tell me the same thing that there is no update and it doesnt even show whether they received my new photos back in April 25th, 2016. Even though I sent it by registered mail and it was received there and i have the record. Then she told me that the PR center does not put any updates on the file and they might have received the photos but probably didnt update it. I am wondering inf anyone else had the same discussion and then received the PR Card very shortly? Secondly, i have also seen people on this forum who have been saying that when they call the CIC agent, they tell them whether their card is in production or it has been dispatched. Do CIC agents have the access to that information or not?
I am really worried now since I know Canada Post might go on Strike starting next week.
Any idea how long it takes for Canada Post to deliver mail from Nova Scotia to Quebec ?

Hi All,

Has anyone tried to contact CIC call center agent on +1888 242 2100 from Canada recently. I am trying to call them from 3 days now and tried all the options but could not able to reach out to agent. I have also tried pressing 0 but no luck. If anyone has called CIC recently please let me know what is the procedure ASAP.

Regards,
Gunjan

For landing you only need (1) the forms listing your items (to-follow and accompanying) (2) the COPRs (3) proof of funds (4) your passport. Here's a link to the personal effects forms :
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/bsf186-eng.pdf (B4)
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/bsf186a.pdf (B4A)

You will need 2 copies of each form. See this thread for guidance on the 2 forms: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/form-b4-goods-to-followaccompanying-list-how-to-t44793.0.html
IS THERE ANY MINIMUM PROOF OF FUNDS THAT WE NEED TO DECLARE IF WE ARE DOING LANDING AT THE BORDER STAYING WITHIN CANADA? Does POF impact getting PR Card early or late?

Assuming you didn't apply under CEC and you don't have an LMIA, you need to be able (if asked) to show the PoF required for your family size, see the exact amounts on the IRCC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp. The PoF has absolutely no impact on when will you get your PR card. The PoF is just another requirement for obtaining the PR, you may or may not be asked for it at landing, but better be prepared to have it with you.

If you applied under CEC or if you have an LMIA, then you are PoF exempt.

Thank you this is informative. So if it under CEC or LMIA then the officer while landing will not ask for POF and even if asked showing the amount mentioned in the link is not necessary?

Hi guys,

It's been a while since I last posted on this forum and I'm not sure if anybody has replied to this question before but would really appreciate if somebody can respond to my question.
I had a quick question about traveling to USA on personal vehicle while I still wait for my PR card. As per CIC, as long as I'm traveling on personal vehicle (including rental vehicle) and carrying COPR and passport, the officer at the border should allow us to enter back while driving back from USA. But I've heard on other forums that that's not always the case. My question, has anybody faced a situation where they were denied entry? Is it advisable to take the trip without the PR card or should I wait for one? Please advise.

I traveled across the border on a rental car with only my COPR and passport. Didn't face any issues. I called CIC and also checked the website - it is perfectly legal to cross into Canada using a personal vehicle (rental or owned) using only the COPR and the passport.

Thanks Stealth Assassin! Appreciate the promptness. Just a quick follow up. Was this trip you took fairly recent? Just wondering if there were any changes recently.
