Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

I am planning to land early Aug. It will be short landing. I intend to give UPS mailbox address for receipt of PR card and understand UPS can forward it to my overseas address (UAE) through DHL.

Has anyone done it? If yes please share the experience. I have heard that PR cards can not be sent overseas and it is illegal and if PR cards are caught then the individual (PR) may be banned. Appreciate any guidance, tips. I did approach CIC and Customs and awaiting their input. So I will share it meantime.

There is a reason why CIC doesn't send PR Card overseas.
It seems like a very risky bet. Something I wouldn't personally do.

Mailbox is fine, but I don't know about overseas mail forwarding.

Why don't you apply for Travel Document and enter Canada that way instead of
betting your PR card AND your PR.

Just be upfront and say you are waiting for your PR and so you applied for TD?

Hi everyone,

I landed in Canada on April 7, 2016 with my family of four members and came back to New Zealand after two weeks. only one PR card arrived for my baby while others are still in process. We are not NZ passport holders. now we want to go back so my Questions are

1) is it safe to send pr cards via courier ( from Canada to New Zealand) as I heard that from march 2016, pr cards had a chip inside. please suggest if anyone had safely received their cards via courier?

2) are we eligible for travel document as my child already got a pr card ?

land apr29 2016, cic agent said that it will receice in july 18,2016.

Called CIC just now, the agent told me my card has not been processed yet, there is no request for additional doc or photo resubmission.

I just got off the call with CIC and they have mentioned that they have sent my card for production yesterday and not sure how long it will take to get in my hand. btw i landed on 29th April.

i have landed on june 4th. Before PR i was on BOWP and VISA which is valid till october 2016. i am waiting for my PR card in the mean time if i go out of country then can i enter based on my previous VISA which seems to be valud till october 2016.
Logically it looks like not possible but just want to know if any of you have some more info.

Your previous status is invalid now that you became a PR.

I had the same story. In May I left Canada without PR card to go back home to Russia for 10 days (which was not enough to apply for Travel document), and then came back to Canada showing my previous visa (which expires in September 2016) and work permit. I was very nervous at the airport, but I guess I got lucky, and didn't have any problems. But still I will not recommend to do this.

No idea my friend :'(
It is just pure bad luck. I just hope they come to some form of agreement and resume their services.
