Your timelines look pretty normal. ND requests the passport at the very start of the process so that part is normal as well. I would recommend that you join the ND thread to discuss more detailed timeline information with others going through this visa office.

I'm preparing to file a complaint against CIC with Canadian Human Rights Commission & if need be then even approach the International Human Rights Commission.

I believe that Canadian Immigration Departments & Systems;

1. Must be investigated for their unreasonable delays in processing times;
2. Must be investigated for obstructing applicant's right to travel (early passport seizures in the name of processing-without disclosure of acts);
3. For refusing to be transparent/ responsive during "processing times";
4. Reasons for Inadequate supply of manpower to support influx/intake of applications;
5. Acting as a barrier in reunification of families; &
6. Other discriminatory practices.

My purpose for this is not to spread hatred but to invite transparency in the system. This is an effort to put things in place rather than giving up. It's an effort to put a stop to being bullied by the government systems. I'm alone today but am sure that in days & years to come will be joined by millions.

I was almost at the verge of giving up my life; I didn't come to this country to be suffocated & choked to death. I & many others come to Canada in search of progressive future, healthy lifestyle; we are all dignified labour effectively contributing to the economy & still being treated as junk!
I'm coming out of my comfort zone to fight this for generations to come; not just for personal gains.
We all need to start somewhere, I believe this is it for me.

If anyone would like to contribute by means of signing petition(s) or representation or free legal advise, would be greatly appreciated. I do not intend & will never ask for monetary contributions or contributions of materialistic value(s); so please be aware of any crooks who may try take undue advantage.

At last I wish all the best to fellow applicants who have already received or in the process of receiving their visas.
Right now I don't see much difference in government systems between Canada & alleged 3rd World countries with the exception of use of English, French & possibly spitting tobacco chew on the walls.

Remember it's easy to shut the door on our problems if we manage to find an easier solution but truly does the problems go away!

Respects,
DI

I completely agree with you. I have a very special and specific case and have written to the office where my husbands application is held. I have no confirmation whether they even have the file nor have they responded to any of my enquiries as to whether it is there or not.

I have wondered for some time now why we in Canada have the longest processing times in the entire Western society.
The US, UK and Australia all process the applications in 3-6 months regardless of country of processing.
Why does Canada take over 1 year and vary from one area to another?

When I asked my MP that question. I was told "I'm not really sure why its different from one country to another, I'll have to look into that". That was 6 months ago. I'm still waiting for her answer.

IMM 5490?

10) WERE YOU SPONSORED TO COME TO CANADA AND TYPE OF SPONSORSHIP?

what should i say here i came under my dad as a landed immigrant and my mom and siblings came under him so did someone sponsor me or not? and what type of sponsorship?

That's not entirely true. I work for an immigration lawyer in the US and we have clients applications that have been processing well over 12 to 16 months

out of curiousity, what have you notice to be reasons why a US application take longer?

Does anybody know how long it takes for RPRF payments to be posted?

I sent a copy of the receipt through email and mail to Mississauga.

Just as with Canadian immigration a lot depends on the country the applicant is from. Many of our applicants are from eastern Europe, Ukraine Moldova and Russia and of course Mexico. Often there are problems with birth certificates and other documents. We have a client who has been waiting more than 3 years because USCIS doesn't believe their birth certificate is real. Another has to have a DNA test to prove their mom is their biological mom.

you mentioned some canadian applications take longer than a year... are those reason the same as you mention above? I was actually asking about the canadian process. or does your office not handle canada applications?
