@ Sannkam Family Sponsorships have a processing time of 18 months coming from POS. Keds is right. Now is the waiting part.

POS sends an AOR which states average processing time of 6 to 12 months. CIC website states 14 months.
Good luck!

Processing times from POS VO is now up 1 mth. Spousal Sponsorships are now 15 mths (no longer 14 mths). Parents/ Grandparents sponsorships is now 27 mths (no longer 26 mths). Other family members (children, adopted children etc) is now 19mths (no longer 18 mths).

Great sticky, lots of good info here that I'm sure will help me and my wife be together in Canada. :)

However, I am very confused about something. It says a sponsor may not be approved if they are on social assistance. My Canadian sweetheart is disabled, and receives assistance for it. Will that mean it is impossible for her to sponsor me? :c

I hope that's not the case, cause I've already looked at us being in the USA. USA is much harder on those who are disabled and want to immigrate. It does not help that she has loads of medical issues that would just eat her bank account alive here. Our savings would be gone within the first year if she lived here in the USA.

Re: D8

If your wife is on Provincial disability then that would not disqualify heê from sponsoring you. It can not be regular welfare but must be a government disability. Ontario has ODSP which is provincial disability. If it is just welfare and on it because of disability then she may have to explain in a cover letter and maybe a doctors letter to explain.

Re: D8

Yes, it's definitely government disability, not welfare. That makes me breathe a bit easier, thanks for the tip on having a cover letter as well as a doctor's note to explain. :)

can anyone answer me please ,

my e-cas states that they received PR application in april , they started processing it on 3 october, medical were received HOWEVER my CSQ was attached with a letter stating that PR application was sent to cairo visa office in may to be processed then in september i received an email stating that the application was sent to pilot office in ottawa , so i have 3 different dates related to application processing.

on which date exactly they started processing the application .... i called immigration canada but they didn't give me an answer they just said that everything is ok with my application

My wife has been living illegally in Canada for 3 yrs. I am trying to sponsor her inland so she doesn't have to return to the states. In this process, it has come up that our marriage (which took place in the US) is not valid as when her ex-husband told her they were annulled, it was untrue. Should we first invalidate the marriage in the States before applying for sponsorship? She fears the cbsa may be looking for her :( I have heard that it's best to get the sponsorship application in before she gets a removal letter?

At the time the visa office received my husband's PR application, the processing time was 22 months but I checked recently and the processing time changed to 26 months. I'm wondering if the current processing time applies to his case (which is 26 months) or the processing time at the time they received his application would apply to his case (which would be 22 months) ? They keep increasing the processing time so frequently :( My second question is, I'm pregnant, is it possible to somehow get my spouse to be in Canada before the delivery of the baby? What are the chances of getting a visit visa?

Hello everyone! I just want to ask if it is possible that I could visit my husband in canada while waiting for the approval of our sponsorship papers? Hope to hear from you guys. Thank you in advance.

If all depends on where you are from. If you are visa exempt you can come and visit. If you need a visitors visa, then you can apply, but its a slim chance that you will get one...

Go with Ottawa. They will be processing your application for PR.

Even with a sponsorship application filed, does NOT mean that your wife will not get a removal letter. If your wife is American, why does she not just return to the states, and then file outland. You will find the time so much faster for processing, and if she tries to cross back to "visit" you and is allowed in, she will be legal again, and be able to stay for up to 6 months (or as approved by the border officer) and can either cross back and forth for renewal, or apply for an extension....

She has nowhere to go in the states and we were married invalidly as her ex-husband told her her 1st marriage was annulled when it really wasn't. This has come to light when we tried hiring an immigration lawyer. So, we have to get that marriage invalidated (which took place in the states) so that we can remarry properly up here. It's a huge headache and is costing a fortune. How do i get the sponsorship filing underway? I really need help here!!

Check out these applicants. I think they are getting PPR faster than the spousal class:

canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/medical-results-have-been-recived-and-after-how-many-days-you-got-ppr-guys-t85234.240.html

There have been lots of PPR with them lately.
