Can Anyone please assist me on how I may check the status of my spousal application through the Havana Cuba visa office. From what I understand I am able to find out the status through the Havana Visa office.

thank you

If you have your UCI and/or File number, send a case inquiry. If not, use the general mailbox.

Include - UCI, File Number, Birthday, Name, and Address (or whatever is requested by Havanna).

General: Havana-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

Case specific: https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=havana

From what I understand is that I am able to check the status on the cuban web but I am unable too. I don't understand, why? I do have a UIC # and are able to check through cic. I was told by immigration that I can check through Havana's website but I am unable to get any info through havana's web. I guess I am a little confused.

Thanks Amikety

The sponsor can do the inquiry, using the UCI from the AOR email.

Yes, either one of you can check. If your wife has a UCI, she can email Havanna.

I sent an email to Havana this morning and this was their response just a minute ago. WOW! That was a fast response. I am excited now! :) 8) :)

Dear Sir

Your case has been reviewed and it should be soon finalised.

Yours sincerely

I know people who have answered the questions both ways and been approved. My interpretation is the day Canada would legally recognize you as common-law (so after 12 months) but I don't think this question will sink you if you answer it as the day you physically moved in together either.

Thanks Amikety I'm going to put the 1st of March 2013 just to be safe cause thats what they ask for I'm sure they would take that as being over a year as common law.

What does background check "active" mean in your case notes?

hi everyone,i am a canadian citizen n i wanna call my boyfriend here.he lives in india.so i need to know that wat can i write in a invitation letter for tourist visa.and m i eligible for that i m 18 n studying.plzzz relpy asap

Check out the visitors section of the forum for TRV information.
Also, you may want to decide your nationality, because you were originally Indian and had no trouble getting a tourist visa, but now you are Canadian and inviting your Indian boyfriend.
Essentially, the invitation letter states the reason why the person is coming to Canada. Give clear reasons, and indicate your relationship, how you know each other. Also explain who is paying for what, and show proof for both parties. Make sure to include ties to the visitor's home country, otherwise the visa will likely be refused. (My partner has been refused 4 times)

Hi everyone,
Can anyone assist me with the name of someone on this forum that is an immigration consultant or that has thorough knowledge about TRVs as my parents visa has been refused for no apparent (valid) reason.
Thanks

You are 18 and you want to send an invitation letter to your boyfriend in India?

It will not serve the purpose. You are not in a position to provide support to someone based on your current situation.

It may be better for your boyfriend to apply on his own. He may also look into student visa option.

Rarely!

But here's the link: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en You can't check it until you have your UCI or File number. If it doesn't work, it could be because your name or birthday has been entered incorrectly, and you'll need to contact your VO to figure that out. Once you can check it, it usually it says "application received" (which you already knew), and it might say "in process" or "decision made" right before or after PPR or right before or after you receive COPR. It's not very helpful, but everyone checks it because it's really the only thing to check unless you order GCMS notes, which take a month to receive (so they are a month out of date when you receive them).

Hello,
I've got a question regarding FBI certificates and name changes. My wife has been asked to resend the FBI clearance. The concern is that when our original application was sent, it was all in her maiden name since all her documentation was in her maiden name. Since then, she has updated most of her documentation to her married name, including her passport. So she used her married name when she got her fingerprints done. Now, will that cause issues with the VO because of the name difference between the last name on the application we sent in january (and what is listed as her name in eCAS vs what the name on the certificate will have? I imagine that this is a somewhat common issue. Any thoughts are appreciated!
