Thank you . I passed immigration process as per Quebec program for skilled workers. In august 2013 I landed in Montreal .I was in Montreal for 10 days (as i remember ) then i returned to my country .so am outside of Canada since August 2013 . i will be in Canada during this summer but i will return back to my country (as per my personal condition ) . i would return back in June 2016 , so do you think that am bot safe if i return back in June 2016

regards ton you and to you all
You need to physically live in Canada for 2 years out of the 5 years. So I'm assuming your PR card will expire in August 2018. So if you come back in June 2016 and stay the remainder of that time you should be fine. As long as you've lived in Canada for atleast 2 years you'll be fine.

Please explain.

A Canadian PR cannot enter any other country with their PR Card exclusively. They will need their passport and perhaps a visa if the country that they are entering requires one.

Quick question: The adress in CoPR must be the same as the adress I'll really live in?
My wife rented a new house for us and she'll move on next 28.
I can't call cic to change it now because I'm waiting for CSQ.
Some insight, please?

Hey everyone,

I just need some help and advise on what you think:

Dec, 2014 my husband sends in sponsorship application
Mar, 2015 my husband got approval and file transfer to POS office
Apr, 2015 POS started process my application.

No word as yet.

My husband is a Canadian citizen.

What ya'll think??

Which visa office is processing your application? What is your country of citizenship?
Figured it out: Port of Spain. ;)

It's only been about 5 months, so you probably have ~ 10-12 more months of waiting at most. Check the POS threads to see what a realistic time frame is today.
(current processing time shown is 17 months total)

Can your wife ask her landlord to hold it for her when it arrives? Is the mailbox there secure?

I don't know if the CoPR can be forwarded by Canada Post (some official documents cannot), but if it can, she can just pay for mail forwarding service to the new address.

That's great!

The processing times shown are a bit deceiving, since it's the time that it takes to process 80% of the applications. It would be better, IMHO, if CIC changed it to read `up to 17 months', since many people [obviously] get through it substantially faster.

I hope you're one of those!

Good luck!

So, assuming that the CSQ arrives before she move out... we must inform CIC and MIDI?
They will have to send me another CSQ with the new adress?
And what happens if I don't inform the adress change and land with the CoPR with the current adress?

After reading everyone's posts on the POS thread, it looks like it depends on who is handling the case. You got a letter stating that it's in process, and as far as I know that's a good thing. I say maximum 8 months so perhaps 3 more months before you get the PPR...

As far as I know a PR Card only enables you to re-enter Canada.
