Yes... Application is in process in Port of Spain (POS).

So your e-cas already says in process? Did you already have a passport request?

E-cas says: Sponsorship application status - Decision made and
Permanent Residence application status - in process. PPR came in on May 27. So in other words, yes and yes :).

hi there,

I am filing an sponsorship application for my wife, to give you the background, my wife is currently on a visitor visa to Canada and will be here till November, she will go then to india and may come back in 2 months if the decision on her application is not reached.

so for GenericApplication for Canada :

1) what should I put on her Residential Address ? Canada or India ?

2) also what should I put her as Current country of residence ? Canada or India, what should be the from and To Dates?

3) Also there is a question on Sponser form - Are you living with someone ? - for this I have listed my wifes name as we are still living temporarily together ? is this correct? please advise, what did you fill ?

Appreciate the help here, very very confused..

thanks a lot!

Regards

In order to sponsor him for PR - you must either be married or common law (common law means that you have lived together for a minimum of one year continuously and can prove it).

Hey guys,

Two quick ones that I have (honestly) tried very hard to search up on google but am having troubles with conflicting / accurate info. Massive thank you for anyone willing to respond – really appreciate it.

Details: I’m Canadian (born in Toronto), met a girl from the UK about 7 years ago, have been together ever since, living together for 5 years, got married 3 years ago (one wedding in Edinburgh, one wedding in Calgary). Everything is tip-top, genuine, have all evidence and proof (even the embarrassing photos… haha). We're wanting more space and I have received a job offer in Calgary that is once in a lifetime and willing to work around when I can make it over. Finished the application and am just wondering one thing:

If we apply now and (fingers crossed) she gets approved, is there a time-limit on when we have to enter Canada? I would like to give time for processing and any errors, but our estimated arrival date is Nov 30th. Is it too early to submit everything?

THANK YOU!

There is a time limit, but they give you enough time to move across. It's not like they approve you and then say "you have one month to leave"... They give a good set of months. In my opinion, now is a good time to submit everything. Keep in mind that these things take time... 54 days minimum before file would be transferred to the visa office in the UK (minimum).... Then you have to factor in the UK visa office processing time, which is 28 months (it most likely won't take that long though). With all that in mind, she might not even be approved by November (I doubt that will be the case). So after all said and done, I truly feel you should get the process started as soon as you can.

FYI..we have been waiting since April 2014...I am the Canadian and hubby is the American...discovered dont plan a time frame at all...
