Hi Profiler,
Makes a lot of sense, that means even if I am not in SIR, I should see somethings happening by Feb, 17 (Hoping for the best)

Sam
I cannot say for sure. I couldn't find you in the spreadsheet. If you saw my mathings on the last page, you'd see the approximate average CIC will have to maintain for cases processed 2016-06 <-> 2017-06 to continue the same 15% decline in processing time from the same period the year prior. Given their aggressive attack on cases (SIR), I would say they are aiming to meet that target at very least...

Unless you find a fault with my maths -- then I blame it on me breaking the sacred code and mathing after 11am...

Sarcasm here? You know, it's after 11, so no mathing and my Sheldon side comes out to play..
None ever!

They have a euphemism for this... "non-compliant" ;). That said, I bet the Officer assigned to your case nearly fell off h(is | er) chair when h(er | is) computer screen's big red light went off and the computer came to life belching, "BROWNING911 HAS FINALLY SUBMITTED IMM 5406 AND SCHEDULE A"
LMAO They must be thinking who the heck could mess up that form. It is so simple. :-[

All joking aside here, They want a balance of low processing times and to clear out the 2015's so they don't complain too much... That's what the goal is.. 100% convinced of that.. That means they may very well have already completed the BG check and they are just messin' with you. You'll find out next month that he has a landing interview...
Thanks again for the positive thoughts. You are awesome.

And NO I am not being sarcastic!

I'm not taking my chances that way if I could land in 2 months like you stated before. I'll just wait it out. Been waiting 11 years already since the start of this immigration journey. Few more months won't make a difference.
11 years???

@browning911 -- I am sorry for trolling earlier.

As a peace offering, I have broken the sacred code, and I mathed for you, after 11...

Here is what CIC will need to target in order to continue the same rate of decrease in processing times...

Therefore, they need to target <= 9 months total average processing time over cases processed 2016-06 <-> 2017-06...
Did I tell you I love math? And I love rain too.....so I am heading out to walk in the rain to the subway. TTYL my 2016 spousal application friends.

Hold up... "mate"... you're from the Commonwealth??

If so, why didn't you say so?! Apps from the CW usually cut through the line faster (kinda like US apps). Sipfarms is from downudah, and they applied just before us (we are March 2)... they land first week in Nov..

So I have a question.. more like a poll.. for inlanders and admirerers..

I read in the Work Permits manual today something.. interesting.

They do inadmissibility checks on the permit holder before issuance.

Does that imply that really they are done that part of eligibility by the time you get your OWP? Does that speed those cases with an OWP up? Thoughts?

Previously held IEC work permit in health field (needed medical to get permit) before even applied for OWP or PR, if that helps with your musings....

for me, from the time you entered canada they know it already, especially to nationals whose visa required to enter to canada, by the time they submitted their visa application, everything is checked. to make it more faster i think the only thing they should check if the marriage is genuine!

@ Profiler: Oh do they have any special queue for CW people? I see, the sweetest thing will be to get the request of medical. Fingers crossed, BTW by any chance do you have any other info on CW applications mate? Will be really helpful. :)

@Profiler: Another weird thing I just noticed when I entered my CIC where I linked my application. Did not notice before, system says the application has been read on Oct, 12, does this mean anything?

Nah I don't keep tabs on US/UK/Aus/NZ and others in the best friends club to be honest.. sipfarms just announced landing a couple days ago, that's why I remembered. And it's reasonably well understood that from the BFC (the CW + USA) apps are pretty fast; in or outland. Hell, most in the CW can sign a consent for PCCs, and CIC can get them direct (as an example)...

Going to be sending our application mid-November now. 'Cause we're paranoid that if we send the application by the end of November, by the time they open it, they won't count it for the spousal open work permit pilot ??? From what I've gathered, it usually takes them about 30 days to open the application from received?

I guess sometimes it could depend on the officer as well? Hopefully, we would be deemed eligible based on when the application was received and not when it has been opened and started processing... ??? ??? ??? ???
