My application package is almost prepared...just missing pcc which i can submit later..right now i AM WAITING for them to reject my application soon

Hi gladaki,
You have probably explained this earlier but why you are expecting your application to be rejected?
I'm also expecting my application to be rejected. It was received on May 21th, 2013 and AOR received on July 4th, 2013.

And please only fill out the form when you expect your application to get to CIO in September.

Hi,

I am in a dilemma here. Sometime in 1997 I changed the way my first name is spelled and had followed the legal procedure for the name change in my home country.

All my documents prior to 1997 like high school certificates/ marriage certificate/ date of birth certificate of my daughter bear the previous spelling of my first name.

I am unable to locate the newspaper advertisements and the original or a copy of the affidavit for name change. I have in my possession an expired passport with the old first name along with the current passport with the changed first name.

I will appreciate if someone could help me with the documents I need to send along with my PR application in absence of these documents (newspaper advertisements & affidavit for change of name).

Thanks in advance.

Why ur expecting rejection..? u just applied so try to save some time..order gcms notes to see what they say. I came to know about

No luck so far.... :(

To be specific I didn't change my first name all together just the way it is spelled as from "HARRY" with two R to "HARY" with one R.

Thanks.

Is there any way for you to acquire a legal document showing the name change? Like an application or anything?

I also plan to submit my application in September.

For Copies of documents in Canada, we don't need them to be certified copies right ? Since the site only gives instructions for documents Not in English or French .

Documents in English or French do not need to be certified. Only documents in a foreign language require a translation and have
to be certified.
Documents in English or French you simply put on a copier and submit the copy.

Thanks,

For the transcript, can I just download from my university and print it; or do I need to order from my school and make a copy ?

You don't need to submit the transcript?!
Please check the document checklist ( http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5610E.pdf ) for
required documents and only submit those mentioned on the checklist.

Just realized I have the 01-2012 check list with section Education/ Training/ Qualifications in Canada. They eliminated this section in 01-2013 form.

Everyone, please make sure you have up-to-date forms, don't make the same mistake as I did.

The only legal documents are the affidavit and newspaper advertisements and I am unable to locate either of these documents :(

Any chance you can get another copy? If you can't and you said you still have an expired passport
with the old spelling of your name then I'd suggest you submit a letter of explanation along with your
application + a copy of the old passport page showing the name.
Guess that if you cant get a legal document showing the name change that this is your best bet to just
explain and proof. Maybe you have another old document you could send along? Like an old credit card? Health insurance?
Some other document showing your name.

Can't guarantee that this is gonna work tho.
