2 for 1 or maximum 1 year count prior to become PR. If someone is here 6 years before getting his/her PR, s/he would get only 1 year instead of 3 years.

ACTUALLY THIS IS DIFFRENT CALCULATION FOR PEOPLE WHO CAME TO CANADA BEFORE THEIR PR. i WAS ALSO CONFUSED AS FEW OF MY FREINDS ( CAME AS STUDENT ) WHO TOLD THEIR ABSENCE COUNT 2 DAYS FOR 1 DAY. I THOUGHT THEY DIDNT UNDERSTAND CALCULATION,,BUT I JUST TRIED ONLINE RESIDENCE CALCULATOR & IT GIVES THE SAME,,I PUT "CAME TO CAMANADA 2 YEARS BEFORE PR & 15 DAYS ABSENSE DURING PR,,IT COUNTED 2 DAYS. AS THEY GET BONUS FOR PHYSICAL PRESENCE BEFORE THEY BECAME PR,,,OTHERWAY THEIR ABSENCE ARE COUNTED 2 FOR 1 DURING PR. LITTLE FUNNY

I applied end of August 2011
CIC Started processing May 30 2012
Received RQ June 2012
Replied to RQ July 2012
Received a letter to prepare for the test in Dec. 2013, received twice 17&18 dec. ( I wonder why?)
Nothing since then,
I called Cic, the agent advised me to call them next Sep. ( by completing 3 yrs), if I don't receive anything.

I called CIC numerous times to see if the test dates are finalized and they keep telling me that nothing is decided yet. It can take months before I get the test date.

What is that? I am so upset at these citizenship people.

We went through the pre-test RQ process. It was really stressful preparing the document and we had to renew our PR card earlier this year. We have just been informed to take the test on April 2nd, 2014, so I'm throwing our timeline out there to help those who are waiting.

Citizenship
We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on August 22, 2011.
We started processing your application on July 4, 2012.
Received RQ in July 2012
*Sent back the documents except the records from CBSA in August 2012
*Sent the border records from CBSA in September 2012
We sent you a notice on March 3, 2014 to appear and write the citizenship test on April 2, 2014

i received a letter for test
l did my test 6 th of may
I did 20/20 and my interview was very well.

What is the next step? will l still wait 36 months ?

I don't know, i am still waiting for oath. During the interview i was told between 2-4 months will receive oath letter, CIC agent keep saying till 36 moths
