Passport req received- Can we apply for a new passport before sending for stamping as passport expiry is in Dec 27

Hi,

Just wanted to know if we apply for a new passport before sending for Visa stamping and send both old and new will that be acceptable?

Background: My sister applied for Visit Visa from India for her family.. Her daughter passport is expiring in Dec 2027, so as we have received passport req approval, can we first get a new passport and then send both old and new for VISA stamping or this may create a problem? Please advise.

How long will it take to get the new passport?

How long will it take to get the new passport?

I think we can get in a week or so, and planning to submit passports in person in Delhi.
