layla.bee, I called CIC now and she told me there is an interview by June , I asked if it is at the same day of the test , she said no, it is before, It is very confusing.

My time line:
Applied Dec 2011
RQ Jun 2012
RQ sent Aug 2012
Letter to prepare for the test Dec 2013

Is the interview is a judge hearing ? , and why she said it is before the test?

Cheers

Your timeline is similar to mine. I am also scheduled in system for an interview, but they told me to disregard that, as it is system requirement only. Call CIC and see if you can talk to someone higher

Re: RQ before test , timeline good news

i have been following this forum for a long time, so here is my timeline:

- applied for citizenship July 2012
- got pre-test RQ in July 2013 from Scarborough Office (i sent my RQ back a month later)
- notice to prepare for exam in January 2014 from St. Claire Office (dated December 2013)
- yesterday i got test invitation for St. Claire Office for February 2014, yaaay
CiC is definitely working on pre-test RQs!!! Let`s hope that Oath is not going to take too long!

No I didn't. I have used RC not from CIC. I used print out form and calculate by myself and I didn't know absences counts 2 for 1, I count them 1 for 1. So I have 91 days of absence and should apply after 182 days, but I wait 91 days ::)

1 day out of Canada is counts for 2 days out of Canada. I dont have any absences before PR? I become PR after 5 years wait, and now I am waiting 1 1/2 year, hopefuly will be Canadian after 9 years in Canada:)

I was not aware that 1 day out of Canada is counts for 2 days out of Canada....it does not make any sense to me. As a PR, if I am out of Canada for 10 days, it means I have to stay 20 days to make up for the 10 days??? How is it possible? Can the 10 days just be eliminated??

I was out of the country for 6 months while a PR before....I used the calculator and there was not any problem. I did not stay extra 12 months in Canada to make up for the 6 months. The 6 months were just not counted towards my physical days in Canada. Am I missing something here???

Are you sure a day out of Canada counts as 2 days out when your status is a landed immigrant in Canada? When I go through the residence calculator it shows be eligible and I have been out of Canada multiple times. This is something new for me. Is this very recent?

I could not find anything on CIC that said absences counts 2 for 1, I count them 1 for 1....can you please elaborate?

Q4: When I try to calculate my absences, I get different numbers than the residence calculator. How does the residence calculator determine the number of days for each absence?

A4: The calculator uses the following rules to determine the number of days absent for each absence declared:
•When calculating an absence, either the day you leave Canada or the day you return is considered an absence, but not both. For example, an absence between July 1, 2003 and July 15, 2003 equals 14 days of absence.
•If you leave Canada and come back the same day, you do not have to declare an absence.
•An absence on February 29 (leap day) is not counted as an absence, nor is it credited as a presence. See Question 5 for more information on leap days.
•Total residence days ending in .5 are rounded up in your favour.
•The total number of days absent includes all absences from Canada within the four-year period immediately preceding the date of your application. Because the time spent in Canada before you became a permanent resident is only credited as half-time, absences from Canada before you obtained permanent resident status are divided by two before they are included in the total number of days absent.

I got my test date as Feb 24th at St. Claire office. I got the letter very much in advance considering that most of them get 2 weeks max. My friend who attended test recently at Mississauga office was given oath date the following week. 1 week after the test date. So what are the timelines like for the oath at the St. Claire office once the test is done?
