@Jasrique My process was transferred to Sao Paulo in February actually I started end of October and was received in November, for some reason the order of my process is different from the others I saw so far but when they asked for the medical was already in SP. But like you said since they are settled now, hopefully, I'll have some news by the end of this month, that's what my lawyer was guessing too next month will be 12 months since I started my application and according to her is time. Because I hired someone to do I don't have an accurate timeline to share, but I'll keep you guys posted. :)

Hi guys, letting you know they also requested my husband’s passaport last week, Sept 4th. We sent to Ottawa the same day. It arrived there on Sept 6th and on Sept 7th they issued the visa. Now we are waiting to receive it back! :)

Hey there,

I'll be applying soon from Brazil (outland) and I'm wondering if I can include a ''open-work permit" application along with my sponsored PR application since I don't want to wait in Brazil for the whole process.

Hey! @Lucasdliz! From what I understand and have read, you cannot apply for an Open Work Permit (OWP) if you apply Outland (even if that's from within Canada).

Personally, if I were you, I would apply Inland so that you can apply for an OWP and stay in Canada. At this point, processing times for Inland & Outland are both 12 months (and I feel that Inland has more benefits). Also, the São Paulo Visa Office is not as fast as it has been in the past, so I think that if you have the option to stay it may be a good idea.

We didn't only because of our situation. I applied Outland for my husband while being outside of Canada myself as my husband has a good job here and he wanted to gain more work experience before trying to enter the Canadian job market (we got married only 1 year after both graduating university). It would have been harder to get a good job in Canada without much work experience, so we came to Brazil as my career is more flexible.

However, if he'd already had work experience, it would have made more sense for us to apply Inland because the money you could earn (even at minimum wage) is much higher. Therefore, if you guys have that option... I would take it!
