Many applicants find out their SVO (Secondary Visa Office) by ordering GCMS notes, because the notes show which visa office is currently handling or assisting with the file. Sometimes people also learn it by calling IRCC or through a webform reply, but GCMS notes are the most reliable way. Regarding the eCAS tracker, it’s common that it cannot find newer PR applications, especially for online or newer streams, because IRCC is gradually replacing eCAS with the newer PR Tracker and GCKey systems. If your application appears correctly in the PR Tracker and GCKey, that usually means everything is fine; eCAS simply doesn’t work for many newer applications or may only start showing results later in the process.

I recently submitted my PR application, and I have a few questions regarding the format for submitting some documents:
- My children’s birth certificates and my marriage certificate do not contain any information on the back. The reverse side is either blank or only has a decorative watermark from the issuing registry office. For the certified copy with certified translation, do I need to include a copy of the back side of the documents even if there is no information on it? Or is it sufficient to submit a certified copy with a certified translation of the front side only, where all the information appears?
- I had my certified translations done by Docbase, and they include a black-and-white copy of the original document in my native language as part of the translation package. Do I still need to upload a separate copy of the original document, as if it were the original document itself? Or is the copy included within the certified translation sufficient? I am asking this for the Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificates and National IDs.
- Regarding proof of my Bachelor’s degree completed in my home country, is the WES equivalency certificate sufficient for the application, or do I also need to submit a copy of my original Bachelor’s degree along with a certified translation?

Receiving the Pre-Arrival Letter (PAL) again usually does not mean a problem with your application. The PAL is normally sent when the eligibility stage is mostly passed and IRCC expects the application to move toward finalization, so a second PAL email is often just a system-generated or duplicate notification. The ghost update on January 6, 2026 indicates that an officer likely accessed or updated your file internally, even though no visible status changed in your tracker. In many cases, this happens when background checks or final reviews are ongoing. Overall, this combination of events—PAL, ghost update, and another PAL email—usually means your application is still in the final processing stages, such as background/security checks, before a final decision is made. It does not require any action from you unless IRCC specifically asks for additional documents.

Does IRCC compare the information on your PR application with the information you supplied during your provincial nomination application? I declared my non-accompanying children during my provincial nominee application, but because my ex-partner refused to release their documents and allow them to have a medical exam, I did not include them in my PR application with IRCC. They have no intention of coming to Canada in the future.

Hi everybody and @Miss bee ,
I received AOR in Jan 5th, 2026. Havent receive any update afterwards. I applied with my spouse, and on the tracker, I can see that my Medical has been passed (did one back in 2024 for a PGWP), but my spouse has not done a medical exam in Canada, so she most likely will be asked by IRCC to do one. My question is:
Should we do a Medical Exam now that we have AOR, so it can be there so that IRCC receive it sooner? Will this make the process any faster? Would there be any issues if we decided to do it now?

I’m applying for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) and just wanted to confirm the documents I should upload under “Client Information.”
I applied for PR through the OINP Master’s stream and have already received my AOR and PAL. So far, the documents I’m planning to include are: AOR, PAL, nomination certificate/letter, my current work permit, and the last 3 months of pay stubs. Explanation letter stating i am applying for BOWP etc etc.
Does this sound sufficient, or is there anything else I should include to avoid delays? I just want to make sure I’m submitting the right documents. Waiting for your response

If you have Job letter, you can upload that as well and also don't forget to include WPSL if you have one . Double check if there are restrictions on your nomination certificate.Hi @Miss bee need your advice again!!!

@Miss bee We applied in December 2024, got AOR in November 2025, PAL in December 2025. In February 2026 both mine and spouse's resume were asked as additional document. In the tracker, it shows Background, medical, and biometric completed but eligibility is not started. What does this mean? I thought receiving PAL indicated eligibility is passed. What would be your estimate timeline for the final decision? Thank you very much for your help in advance
Hello all, I submitted my application in August 2024 and in November 2025, background check started and shows ongoing. My mp said everything has passed except security in November and told me contact them again if I dont get final decision by April 2026. I applied for GCMS notes in December and havent got any response since then. Every time I check processing times, it shows 2 months for the last 3 months. Because of this, I understand that my application is still in processing time frame. However, when I first applied, it was 11 months and it passed 18 months. On top of everything, my work permit expires in September. What should I do?
