I guess everytime someone goes for EI, they get a notice and they will check on that applicant.

I have a friend who sponsored his wife from the phils, he's a canadian citizen too, and he was also doing an apprenticeship thing so from time to time he has to go to school for at least 3 months and be on EI. His wife had to be interviewed even after their eCAs changed to DM already because the husband had to go to school by that time and be on EI. So yeah, i guess they are aware and they are updated with those stuff.

Got a reply from Ottawa stating that they need proof that I(sponsor) live and work in Ontario now. I made the move beginning of Jan. Any opinions of what I should send. I have a letter from work saying I am working there, I have my bank account info. I have no pay stubs yet. or T4's since 2010.

Any bills with your name and current address on it would be enough.

Bot a friend. He never checked his email. And when he did, he had an email from CEM asking for further requirements along with his passport. But he exceeded the 45 day period that CEM has given him to comply the said requirements.Just wondering if VO will still acknowledge his neglect?

I guess that's why he's not a member here . . . calm, cool and collected / 2 months go by and not a peep of concern or worry. Must be nice! The more important question would be "will they IGNORE his neglect"?

Start with the letter, or if you're gonna receive a 'pay stub' soon, that's the BEST evidence (anyone can write a letter).

It's going to be unfair for all us who are dying to get our papers noticed.

I'd suggest that he contact his VO asking but, they're not very forgiving. It's likely he may have to reapply.

He should try to call although some VO's won't accept phone enquiries. If the email was sent to him as the applicant, then he should reply to that email directly himself.

Received a similar email today stating my Canadian Citizen husband sponsor needs to show more proof of residency, We will be sending pay stubs, bank statements, T4 from last year. some of our utility bills have a US address as they were being sent to me to pay, but the service was in Canada. what else can we send to establish residency. The email says Driver's license property tax assessments and SSI cards are insufficient.
Not happy tonight :(
