My medicals are expiring in March 2013 so I`m thinking if by the end of this month I still have no news from Bucharest VO to undergo a new medical examination without being requested,so I don`t waste precious time later. Is that a good idea?

My wife's medicals expired December 12th and we haven't heard anything yet. You may want to wait as they may only require certain things.

I landed this morning. We spent more time sitting in line waiting to cross the US border than we did in immigration. All of my belongings are already in Canada or were sold when I left the states.

Although we did get pulled for a random car search. When the inspecting agent asked how long we'd been in the US and my husband said 30 seconds, he looked a little irked that they'd pulled us for inspection. still, all together, we spent about 15 minutes taking care of everything.

Service Canada, here I come! I already have Alberta health...

Totally hear you! Felt that way too. No harm in checking ECAS on Saturday. I checked one Sat morning - nothing! By 5 pm that day - went "Decision Made". That was Sat, Jan 5th btw.

Nope, sold that too. I will be helping my daughter with all if her paperwork. She will be landing with her handbag next weekend, and flying back states the next day. She will be bringing everything else up later.

Hi everyone tts 4am in Victoria BC and I still can't sleep!!!

My wife had a 'feeling' so yesterday she checked ECAS and saw it was changed from "application received" (which it had been since july this past summer' and that it was at the Singapore VO office to "In process".

My wife and I were ecstatic and thought we would hear from the VO within a few weeks to find out if she needed an interview or maybe an approval sometime in February.

We were happy but cautious not to get our hopes up too high........


BUT I got a email from my wife at 2am with an email saying this...

WOW what a great 2 days!!!!! overall the process 8 months to get to this point!!!!!

I practically jumped for joy!!!! no more wondering!!! its like a great weight is off our minds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I can't seem to use enough !!!!! to show how I feel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Its exciting to make new plans...we are planing for her to spend TET holiday in Vietnam and then land by mid Marc

I just wanted to tell everyone to keep hope!!!

I had just come back from a visit to Vietnam last week and when we left my wife was pretty down about not knowing when we could meet the next time.... This has been a great few days of surprises !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its been 8 months to get to this point! ECAS was pretty useless about updating use 'weekly' seems they just update when the finish approval.

So I am sending out some positive thoughts to all my fellow MAY APPLICANTS so they will get some good news soon!!!!

Congratz! Good for you. I think all you have to do is provide them a copy of your flight ticket booked to be leaving to canada before your medical expires. That's all you need to prove to them that you'll be leaving soon.
