I received a notice in the mail yesterday for the date for my citizenship test. For Nov 26th it was mailed out in October 22th.

What's the normal time frame from taking the test to getting the oath/etc? Does anyone have an average time?

What is your local office? If its Mississauga, I guess they will give you the oath date after your interview as per posts I have seen. If its Scarborough Office, they will mail the oath date request. They used to give the oath dates at the end of the interview but they dont anymore.

Thanks

Anyone else awaiting for test invitation here?

Timelines

Submit application March 2014
Application received April 2014
Processing start June 2014
Finger prints request: September 2014
Finger prints received by CIC October 2014 (called and confirmed they got it)
Notice for test received October 2014
Test date October 2014
Passed test and interview and received oath on same day
Oath: Nov 4th

Below are some observations and comments:

Received line never disappeared --> what's the significance anyways? My opinion/observation is that every case is different and just because a line appears or disappears doesn't necessarily mean good or bad news. Advise is to just stay calm and be patient. Good news will come eventually :)
Ecas didn't get updated with oath information after the line (number 4) indicating test instructions, line 5 says you became a canadian citizen on xx xx xxxx
The overall status got updated 3-4 days after oath. Overall status doesn't say "decision made" it now says "complete"
For those who have stamps in their passports with language other than English make sure you do translation
If you have any E-visas (I.e. Not attached in your passport), make sure you carry a photo copy.
-during test/interview, people that finish test first get intervewed first (not 100% sure but it looked like it)

Congrats! Cic is not supposed to give at least 2 weeks notice?

Hi Flocan,

Congratulations. What is your local office?
We have the same received and IP timeline, but I am still waiting for the test invitation.

Thank you.
