Received today (March 12, 2010) letter from FBI stating: "The quality of characteristic is too low to be used." :'(
I'm back at square one and have to resubmit new prints, for another estimated waiting time of 13+ weeks.
This is so frustrating.... I've been waiting for over three months for the FBI report, in order to send in the PR application (family class). Everything else was done back in December. Waiting another 13+ weeks will mean waiting 6 months on #@$%^& FBI report, which I'm sure will say the same as the State police check that I received in December that stated, "No Criminal Record".
Needless to say it has been another frustrating and very disappointing day.
Any ideas/suggestions?

From the previous several posts I am getting the impression that you can track your "progress" by FBI in getting the clearance.

I called FBI customer service last friday (12 March) and they advised that I allow 2 weeks more before I get the certificate.
Request was received by FBI 05 Jan.

I have been given 60 days in my instructions to produce documents including RPRF and medicals.
I can pay my RPRF and do my medical right away.
However, seeing that FBI is taking about 13 weeks, what should I do?
Will Buffalo office accept the fingerprinting from FBI later than 60 days because FBI itself cannot produce them?
I made a special request to FBI in my fingerprinting request to send in 45 days i.e. by April 30th.
Of course it is anybody's guess whether or not that will work.
My instructions however say the clearances will "usually sent by FBI in 6-8 weeks"
Should I document all my correspondence with FBI to be on the safe side?
Please advise.

My recommendation is send the RPRF and Medicals now and explain to CHC that FBI PCC will follow and will be delayed as they are taking about 13 weeks now. See the following link
