Definitely reply. And you should supply the proof they are asking for in terms of the sponsor residence info -we sent copies of a T-4 and a utility bill. The rest, just let them know point by point that it's already completed.

Hi guys, I (as an applicant) received an email from CIC (CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca), asking for the Intent to Reside:

BTW, the email sounds like a batch email that concerns us about everything, including our address, our plan to have/adopt any child, Proof of Residence/Intent to Reside, whether Right of Permanent Residence Fee has been paid, Police Certificates, CSQ (only for Quebec, not for us), and Medical examination.

The paragraph that asks for the Intent to Reside reads

We are now living in the United States. We have included lots of stuff about our intention back to Canada in our original application packages, including our written Proof_of_Intention letter, our timeline back to Canada, her mother's written letter of asking us back, her frequent flight ticket back to Canada (monthly flying back), our correspondences with our potential employers in Canada, the State of Title Certificate of my wife (sponsor)'s owned apartment in Canada, her live bank account statements, completed notice of assessment of her Canadian tax returns (she still fills Canadian tax returns every year) for last 3 years, etc.

We have not fixed any definite returning job offer yet but we are actively working towards them. Aren't these proofs sufficient for them? If we'd like to send them again, which address of CIC should we use to send?

Thanks!

Hope we can get DM results very soon!
Extreme, I'm thinking we've all likely sent enough evidence. My spouse has never even lived outside of Canada, works at a Canadian University, and we have that same request for more evidence paragraph in our email.

I think it's a blanket statement. Sounds like you sent more than enough information! (Impressive, really.)

I'm trying to figure out if we're supposed to respond accordingly and tell them we've sent everything with the initial application, or if we're supposed to ignore it.

Let's hope DMs are a few weeks away!

I'm looking for where we send it. Do we just reply to the email with the documents scanned and attached?

Yeah, I read a few pages and saw your situation, almost the same like me.

So do you know which address I need to use to respond with another package including almost the same thing?

Trying to figure that out, too. They actually never said, so my guess is that you reply to the email?

I'm waiting for someone to confirm that though. (Anyone? Bueller?)

I'm going to just include the lease, her bills, and a pay stub. You, however, provided a plethora of info. I don't know what more you could include.

Yes, you can just scan and attach the docs in a reply. My wife has also never lived outside of Canada...it's so silly. But since the residing within Canada piece is so important, we went ahead and sent a couple of the documents. Also make a point of saying that your sponsor has always lived in Canada.

I think these generic requests are actually creating more work for CIC. People sending things they don't need, etc...slowing down the process even more.

We have no ideas either, maybe more correspondence with the potential employers saying that we are actively looking for a job?

We received the same email. Like other posters, we listed all components of the email with a response (paid upfront, provided upfront, etc.). We attached just 2 pieces of address information. The rest is not applicable.

IF you have anything new, include it, and maybe one or two repeat pieces, like the letter from the relative. Then say there is additional proof provided in the original application. Since you actually are both outside of Canada currently, anything new you have would be helpful.

Do you think it would be smart for the sponsor to book a flight back to Canada (sponsor will be going back to Canada in March) and send a copy of it??

No problem. Like I said, I don't know how these requests aren't slowing them down - everyone is responding, providing in most cases documents they already have, or they are confusing people and they have to take the time to reply and answer questions. Seems like they were trying to do something to speed up getting common missing documents or fees, yet they are creating a lot more work for themselves by no longer being selective in the requests.

Is the sponsor currently live somewhere other than Canada, booking a flight back to Canada does not really show intent to reside in Canada, he needs to show any ties to Canada does he have any property/deeds listed under his name that shows his Canadian address or if he is currently working outside of Canada and living outside of Canada, he should send copies of job applications that he applied for in Canada which shows intent to reside back in Canada but merely booking a flight does not show intent to reside.

I also just received the same email everyone else is getting. Looks like I'll just respond and attach a utility bill. Everything else they are requesting as been sent upfront with our application.

Ugh, this is silly. Praying though this is a good sign.

Its extremely silly , i got this email 2 months ago and shot over a utility bill, I think now they are actually processing my file as I was requested with the same request from an actual visa officer today, they had a signature under the email. So I really think these are generic batch letters that they send to pretty much everyone, and everyone that is sent these emails are processed in the same batch. It is highly unlikely any of the people who have gotten these emails today , there files have been looked at but when looked at all these people will be processed in the same batch.
