Woot, eCAS says 'In Process' Finally!!! I think there's a light at the end of this tunnel

Congrats, hopefully they'll have a DM rather quickly. It's been a long road for you!

Congrats! If I may ask, are you an American Citizen or a Foreigner living in the US?
American, married to a Canadian. My file has had a few snags, not the usual experience though. ;) Yes, it's been a long road.

Thanks. I live in the US but I am from another (VISA exempt) country, so I am looking for comparables, even though every application is different.
Congrats again!

Often times there are country specific threads on here to provide info and stories but you can always start your own ;) Good luck.

check the ottawa spreadsheet (blue link in my signature). it may have country of citizenship listed.

Thanks, will do!

I want to congratulate another US citizen for getting her application approved - I got half of her CoPR in mail today with half of mine. LOL! Just when I thought they couldn't possibly prolong this any longer.

How the heck do they even do that? How do they manage to put half in one envelope and half in someone else's?

CoPR consists of two copies, one for CIC and one to keep for yourself. The one for CIC I got mine, the one that I should keep after landing is someone else's...

I would recommend sending a case specific inquiry or an email to ottawa ASAP so they can tell you whether you can just throw it away, if CBSA can make a copy for you, or if they need to resend you a document. Depending on your landing plans/deadline you may want to consider getting the sponsor's MP involved for backup/quicker response.

I know it consists of two copies, I just can't see how they would get one of yours and one of someone else's in together. That's the part that confuses me.

it could be as simple as both were printed on the same machine at the same time, and the officer didn't double check both papers were to same. or it could be 2 stacks of papers are printed, they are suppose to be coorelated and the papers got mixed up. i'd assume some of the tasks for completing everything are very redudant and "second nature" for the officers, and sometimes mistakes happen!

I guess that makes sense, it just seems weird is all. And yes, mistakes do happen, to everyone.

Thanks for your advice. I couldn't take any more "mistakes", especially that I have to land until February 3rd (I am in Canada already), and the call centre agent didn't sound so sure what to do, so we contacted our MP right away, and I will know what to do by tomorrow.

Sorry, I didn't realize you landed already. I was too quick to answer.
Trust me, I was as confused as you are. I was going to go to the border right after signing that I received the passport today, luckily I wanted to check if all the data on the CoPR is correct, and imagine my surprise when I saw the other page with some other person's PERSONAL info. I think the mistake happened because both were issued the same day...

it would be a trip if that person was on the forum and received your other half. you'd be able to coordinate it much faster!

good luck, it will all work out perfectly fine!
