My “you passed your medical exam” changed to “you do not need a medical”. Is it an automated sign of my medicals expiring? I had my medical on July 30th, 2020 and the validity was until August 5th, 2021 (based on my GCMS notes).

@legalfalcon could you please share your comments on this? Thank you!
As per the most recent policy, if you fall under the medical reassessment category, your medicals would have been sent for a reassessment, and this is when the status changes. If you meet the extensions criteria, your medicals will be extended for 6 months or 1 year, or else you will be asked for a re-medical (likely not).

If you cannot land before the expiry of the medical validity, either your med has to be extended as per policy or re-medicals asked and only after that, the travel documents can be issued.

Hi @legalfalcon,

I ordered GCMS Notes recently via getgcms.com. It showed that my file is stuck on the info sharing part for a while . The last update on my application was on Feb 2021.
1. Will initiating a GCMS request trigger a movement on my file ?
2. How much time does Security stage take typically?
3. I raised a request to add my spouse to my application Dec 28, 2020. The last update on GCMS was addition of spouse (which is not processed but just an acknolwdgement that they received the request) to my application back in Feb 23, 2021. Will this cause any further delay on my application?

I truly appreciate your efforts to help people who want to immigrate to CANADA.

Here is the overall timeline
PNP Outland - Current IRCC online application status : You passed the medical exam. (update on Jan 12, 2021)

OINP NOI received - Jan 15, 2020

ITA : May 27, 2020

AOR : Aug 25, 2020

Bio-metrics : Mar 09, 2021

VO : CIO (Centralized intake office )

Medical : Passed

Eligibility: Passed

Criminality: Passed.

Info Sharing: In-Progress

Security: Not Started.

Is your VO Ottowa or Sydney?

Was your re-med extended on Jan 12 2021?

I have no Idea what is up with Security. My security hasn't started at all. My AOR is March 2020. Latest opinion I have after following this forum is :
They are probably holding off from updating security. Security has a certain shelf life like medical. When PPR is issued everything will suddenly change to completed I guess. Lets wait for them to retouch all the outland applicants, only then we will know what they decide to do.
In your case at least medical is valid. You will PPR sooner than most of us with expired medicals.

1. Requesting GCMS notes neither expediates nor delays the processing in any way.

2. The average of 110 days for outland applicants and much faster for inlands, see https://bit.ly/3apWglN

3. When you add your spouse, you will be asked to submit the documents which will have to be assessed. It will not affect your eligibility or CRS, but your spouse will have to undergo, medical admissibility, criminality, security and info sharing.

Do you see your spouse's UCI number on your MyCIC account?

I have submitted the request documents (forms, marriage and birth reports) by IRCC on Dec 28, 2020 for adding spouse to existing application.
No, she is not added to myCIC and NO UCI number for her yet. So bio-metrics and medicals were not submitted for her yet.

Hello,
I just received the same update. My medicals were completed on the 25th of July last year. have you received any response?
Hi,

I received a response from IRCC today, it was predictably vague and completely ignored my query on expired medicals :)

  • Your application currently meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied,
    • you may be contacted via your account if additional information is needed.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification has not been initiated.
