Hey Guys,

Have a question. I got my oath invite but they want me to appear in Mississauga. I'm like 10 minute drive away from the Scarborough location. Is it possible to have my oath ceremony move to Scarborough?

Not worth the effort in my opinion. They'll need to reschedule you and you could move to the back of the queue. This is the last step! Just suck it up and drive to Sauga man!!

Hello folks,

I am from Calgary and have received oath invitation for Mar 6, 2019 at 1pm. I may Rescheduled my oath ceremony because my parents are visiting Canada first time in April and I like them to be a part of that great achievement of my life with me. If someone has been though this kind of situation and can advise me if I do that would they provide me some sort of option to choose my oath date or they would put me to random oath date?

Thanks!

Rescheduling will put you back to the queue which can take a while. They will not let you pick the date since there are a lot of people waiting for oath invite and they also try to clear the backlog. I understand your wish to have your parents there with you. You can get this last step done first and then show them pictures of the ceremony so they can share the joy with you. Oath schedule is hard to come by.
Why don't you try to re-schedule your parents' flight instead if that is an option? It's just my personal opinion...

hello All

I applied for citizenship back in mid April 2018 with Brampton address. I am still waiting for the test date/ invite.

1- why does Brampton address take so long (shittiest processing time), I mean everyone else seems to be almost done by now
2- any advise on what i should do, I am seriously thinking about letting it go, my whole life is on hold because of this crap.

A lot of moms friends are also waiting. My family lives in a Brampton. Anyway, my moms friends, 1 applied in May 2018 and the other I believe either February or March 2018 and they haven’t gotten test invite either. I really think it’s just Brampton. I honestly wouldn’t let it go for sure. Just wait trust me! I know it sucks waiting and watching other people get test invites or even oath invites.

I think all Brampton applicants will either get test invite by the end of February. I honestly feel like sooooooooo many people in Brampton apply for citizenship and the officer that is holding those applications are either lazy or just have so many files they can’t keep up. I could be wrong I don’t know but just wait you’re not the only one trust me! :)
